FIRST LISTEN: UNCLE BUZZARD / ORIGAMI BOY
To those who’ve seen our recent fourth issue of Delinquent, Uncle Buzzard may be a familiar name. One of Leeds’ newest talents, the four-piece graced our magazine in an exclusive first-ever interview as well as in the review section, where we dissected their debut offering, Origami Boy, a six track EP. We’re delighted to share with you an exclusive first stream of the full EP, along with the review featured in Issue #4.
“Leeds is a proven breeding ground for exciting new talent. Bands like Drahla, Mush, Party hardly, Glass Mountain and Magick Mountain are making waves in their respective scenes. Now Leeds has a new sound to add to its already impressive roster, the erratic funk-glow of Uncle Buzzard. After just a handful of shows and a few tracks online the band have already begun to make a name for themselves in the region and further afield. New EP Origami Boy is the first chance to sample the four-piece’s brand of synth laden, shimmering pop. Singer George Manson’s often comical vocals melt over warm rhythms and glistening guitars. It’s a taste of the summer we’re so desperately longing for.”
