It was hard not to fall in love with wormboys when they unveiled their doomy cover of Robbie Williams pop classic Rock DJ last year. Combine that with a growing reputation in Leeds glowing DIY scene and you’ve got a band to be excited about. Now wormboys are readying themselves for their first EP, eartime, out May 10th.
Today Delinquent has the honour of sharing the first track from eartime, giant hands, a fuzz-filled noise-pop gem. Singer Sop Satchwell’s vocals sit perfectly atop a swell of guitar and bass on a song full to the brim with character. It’s a brilliant start from a band described by Satchwell as 50% queer and 100% cute. They may be cute but with a few more tracks like this and wormboys will be one of Leeds' most formidable new bands.
